Campaign in a Box

image description

Campaign-in-a-Box is our citizenship challenge. The kit contains everything an adult mentor needs to facilitate a series of workshops looking at the barriers to walking. They can then develop solutions and share these with local decision-makers.

Participants will gain expertise in:

•    team-working
•    project management
•    campaigning.

Campaign in a boxCampaign-in-a-Box is suitable for classroom work, off-curriculum days, out-of school clubs and youth-work settings. Each box contains a guidebook for adult mentors, and a workbook for students. It also contains resources which enable young people to run their own ‘street treasure hunt’. This helps identify the barriers to walking on their streets; create films, posters and leaflets; run a ‘walking buddy’ scheme for new starters and to deliver a presentation to local decision-makers.

Secondary school students in England, with a budget of at least £50 for their campaign, are eligible for a free Campaign-in-a-Box toolkit. Councils in England willing to offer a budget to school groups can also get free toolkits, while stocks last. Schools, councils and other organisations outside England can order the boxes at competitive rates.

If you're interested in taking part, please email walktoschool@livingstreets.org.uk in the first instance.
