Fitter for walking
Living Streets works with local communities to improve local environments and get more people out walking. Focused on enabling communities, our work gives people the skills to improve their surroundings and the opportunity to achieve Living Streets awards.
We're pleased to present a recently published independent evaluation of our work with communities, conducted by the British Heart Foundation National Centre (BHFNC) at Loughborough University. Download the evaluation report
An economic evaluation of the health impact of our work, conducted by the University of the West of England, is also available. Download the economic evaluation.
You can also read highlights of our work in our summary report.
Living Streets has developed a package available to commissioners looking to achieve similar outcomes in their area. For more information contact Jack Skillen on 020 7377 4912, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Living Streets awards
Living Streets awards are presented to neighbourhoods, groups and individuals that have successfully promoted safe, vibrant streets and public spaces. Neighbourhoods must demonstrate progress against the following criteria:
1. Make the environment fitter for walking
2. People have walked more
3. A community working together
4. A commitment to sustaining progress
The winners of our awards have displayed creativity, community spirit and determination in seeing their projects through from start to finish.
