Making the Case for Investment in the Walking Environment
This report, by the University of the West of England on behalf of Living Streets, brings together robust, referenced evidence on the importance of walking and the economic, environmental, health, social and road safety benefits of investing in an improved walking environment. This report looks at the habits, concerns and fears of over 2,000 children aged 7-14 when it comes to their walk to school, and proposes ways to break down the barriers.

Our 'Reclaim Your Streets' toolkit is made up of a number of practical tools to enable local people to create more walking friendly streets and public spaces.
