Our Trustees

Living Streets’ Board of Trustees meets four times a year and is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation. They ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulation, as well as the continuing financial health of Living Streets. They also hold the Chief Executive to account for the efficient and effective running of the organisation. Find out more about our Board of Trustees.


Our Chief Executive

Tony ArmstrongTony Armstrong
Tony joined Living Streets in 2008, and oversees all areas of activity across the organisation. Prior to joining Living Streets, Tony worked for the Department of Health, where he led the Government's cross-departmental obesity programme. Follow Tony on Twitter: @antlondon


Our Delivery department

The Delivery department works on the ground to facilitate behaviour change and activity that supports our vision of safe, attractive and enjoyable streets. This work includes ensuring the successful delivery of our projects and commissioned work, as well as building relationships with partners and ensuring the effectiveness of our activity. Team members include our Walk to School, Walk to Work and Streets project coordinators.


Our Development department

The Development department is responsible for ensuring a sustainable income base for the organisation. This includes overseeing our individual giving, commercial and trading activity. The team also looks after our corporate partnerships and services to local authorities and other public sector bodies.


Our Policy and Communications department

The Policy and Communications department works with government bodies, politicians and other organisations and decision-makers. It supports and coordinates our policy campaigns at a local and national level. The team also produces information and communications such as the Living Streets website and our newsletter Street Life, and provides resources and support to Living Streets local campaigners and groups.


Our Finance and Resources department

The Finance and Resources department supports the smooth running of the Living Streets office, and is responsible for finance, human resources, IT and office systems.
